Pupils follow a broad and balanced curriculum throughout Years 7–9, studying a wide range of subjects across the sciences, humanities, languages, creative arts and sport. This strong foundation helps pupils discover their interests and strengths before making GCSE choices.
When do pupils choose their GCSE subjects?
Pupils select their GCSE options during Year 9, with support from teachers, tutors and parents. As part of the process, families are invited to attend our GCSE Options Evening, where they can hear from senior staff, learn more about the options available and speak directly with Heads of Department about individual subjects. Guidance is provided throughout to help pupils make informed choices that reflect their interests, strengths and future aspirations.
What co-curricular opportunities are available?
There is a wide range of co-curricular opportunities available, allowing pupils to explore new interests, develop existing talents and build confidence beyond the classroom. Examples include the Green Group, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Ten Tors, Combined Cadet Force (CCF), music ensembles, drama productions, academic societies and a variety of leadership opportunities. Pupils can also take part in a broad sporting programme including lacrosse, hockey, football, netball, cricket, athletics and tennis, among many others. With so much on offer, there is something for every pupil to enjoy, challenge themselves with and become involved in.

Pastoral care is at the heart of school life.
